The District Township Recreation Committee meets the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building. This board is an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors in matters concerning the recreational areas of District Township. Members are appointed to the Recreation Committee by the Board of Supervisors for three-year terms. Projects are undertaken as determined by the Board of Supervisors. First meeting May 2008.

GORDON PARK

District Township's Gordon Park offers many features for all family members, including a tennis court, baseball field, volleyball area, playground, and picnic pavilion. The picnic pavilion may be rented for private parties. The fee for renting the pavilion is: $25.00 for District Township residents in a group of 50 people of less, $35.00 for District Township residents in a group of more than 50 people, and $50.00 for non-residents. There is a $100.00 deposit for use of the park, which will be returned upon satisfactory inspection of the facilities. Public restrooms are available.
